State Operated Services, a division of the Minnesota Department of Human
Services, is seeking a highly motivated accounting professional to fill the
position of Accounting Director/Controller. This position reports to the
Chief Financial Officer for State Operated Services and is located at the
Roseville Office.
State Operated Services system consists of an array of campus and
community-based programs serving people with mental illness, developmental
disabilities, chemical dependency and traumatic brain injury located
throughout the state.
Essential job functions of the Accounting Director/Controller:
Manage Accounting Functions
* Supervision of the general accounting staff
* Supervision of the accounts payable and business office functions
* Responsible for all external financial reporting including reporting
required by the Legislature or regulatory agencies
* Preparation/oversight of monthly financial reports
Presents monthly financial statements to the SOS Operations Committee
Coordinates annual operating budget/capital budget development
Position requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
CPA - preferred
3 - 5 years of healthcare accounting experience with minimum 2 years in a
supervisory position
Can effectively cope with and facilitate change
Good to excellent presentation skills
