Assistant System Controller - Posted 11/18/04

 

Abeln, Magy, Underberg & Associates has been retained by a leading

healthcare system serving Minnesota's Twin Cities and surrounding

communities to recruit for an Assistant System Controller.  The Assistant

System Controller is responsible for directing all accounting, financial

reporting and control functions for organization.  The individual is

responsible for directing the preparation of the organization’s financial

statements and reports from accounting records.  He/she is also responsible

for the maintenance and development of necessary financial records and

information systems with regards to accounting, reporting and control

functions.

 

The ideal candidate for the position will have the following:

 

·     Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly

        preferred; MBA desired

·     Minimum of ten years of combined experience in public accounting,

        technical and general accounting; experience in healthcare preferred

·     Knowledge of current financial and accounting concepts and

        principles, financial modeling experience required; exposure to

        Sarbanes-Oxley strongly preferred

·     Experience managing accounts payable and purchasing functions

·     Experience managing the external audit process critical experience

        working with highly experienced and educated professional staff, and in

        leading, mentoring, and developing team members

·    Sound business judgment with proven ability to manage resources and

       multiple projects effectively with positive results required; exceptional

       transformational leadership experience with a proven track record of

       leading change efforts in process improvement (Six Sigma, TQM, etc. skills

       preferred)

·   Knowledge of and aptitude for computer software and general ledger

       applications; experience with the conversion to an ERP critical;

       proficiency in working with Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint necessary
